Schedule a 15-minute call.
A no-commitment intro call to talk through your symptoms and whether a full consultation makes sense. It is a conversation, not a medical evaluation.

Breast Reduction · Bethesda, MD
Back pain. Shoulder grooves. Rashes that never quite heal. For most women who come in, this is not about appearance — it is about a body that hurts by the middle of the afternoon.
If you have been told to live with it, or to just lose weight, or that it is cosmetic and therefore frivolous, that is worth a second opinion. The first step is a low-pressure 15-minute call.

Where to Start
Breast reduction is one of the few procedures where most patients arrive with a physical complaint rather than an aesthetic one. Dr. Dassoulas will tell you whether surgery is likely to help with what you are actually describing.
Neck, upper back and shoulder pain that builds through the day, and often eases when you lie down or hold the weight up with your hands.
Irritation, chafing or rashes underneath that clear up briefly and come straight back, particularly in summer.
Grooves worn into your shoulders, a curve you cannot correct by standing up straight, and exercise or clothing you have quietly given up on.
Why This Practice
How much is removed, and what shape you are left with, are decisions made with you rather than to you. Dr. Dassoulas will ask what your day looks like — what hurts, what you have stopped doing — because that is what the plan is built around.

Two to three sentences on how you approach a reduction — how you decide on size with a patient, and what you tell women who are worried about going too small. This replaces the description above rather than adding to it.
Dr. Dassoulas focuses her practice on breast and body procedures. This is not a general plastic surgery practice that does everything.
Not everyone who searches for a reduction wants less tissue. Some want the same volume sitting higher, which is a lift. Where an implant is part of that plan, Dr. Dassoulas uses Motiva as her primary implant. Which of these you actually want is a consultation conversation.

How do you talk a patient through reduction versus lift versus lift-with-implant? And your two to three sentences on why you prefer Motiva, which we will check against approved manufacturer claims before publishing.
Results
Reduction results are best judged against a starting point that resembles your own, which is what Dr. Dassoulas will show you in person.
Awaiting image · Practice team
Gabby’s breast reduction photographs, once they are in the shared folder. Same branded 2x2 square composite format as the breast surgery set, plus written confirmation of a signed release for each — practice branding on an asset is not evidence of one. Send them over and this section fills in; nothing else needs changing.
Individual results vary. Any images shared are published with patient permission and are intended to illustrate the range of outcomes, not to promise a specific result.
Insurance and Eligibility
Awaiting copy · Dr. Dassoulas
This section is deliberately empty and will stay that way until you supply two things: the accurate list of insurers the practice works with, and your patient FAQ bullets on eligibility — what criteria tend to matter, what documentation patients are usually asked for, and how long the process normally takes. We have written nothing here in the meantime, in either direction, because a guess about coverage is the one mistake on this page that would actually harm someone.
The Process
A no-commitment intro call to talk through your symptoms and whether a full consultation makes sense. It is a conversation, not a medical evaluation.
Dr. Dassoulas will examine you in person, talk through what is driving your symptoms, and explain what she would recommend.
You will leave knowing what is recommended, what recovery involves, and what it will cost.

Two things. First, the same question as the other landers: is the 15-minute call with Dr. Dassoulas or a team member? Second, once the insurance hold lifts, this sequence probably needs a step for documentation or pre-authorisation — tell us where it belongs and we will add it.

Your Surgeon
Dr. Kasandra Dassoulas is a board-certified plastic surgeon practising in the Bethesda, Maryland area, with more than fourteen years of surgical training and experience. Her practice focuses on breast and body procedures.
She completed a six-year integrated residency in plastic surgery at the University of Virginia, followed by a fellowship in microsurgery and aesthetic surgery at Mercy Medical Center.
Questions
Relief from neck, back and shoulder symptoms is the most common reason women give for having the procedure, but whether it will help you depends on what is actually causing your pain — which is not always breast weight alone. Dr. Dassoulas will tell you honestly at consultation if she thinks something else is driving it.
A reduction removes tissue and weight. A lift repositions what is already there without necessarily removing much. Women often arrive certain they want one and leave having decided on the other, which is a normal outcome of a consultation rather than a change of mind.

The accurate insurer list. Held until you supply it — we will not publish a list we cannot verify, and a wrong name here sends someone into a claim they do not have.

Your patient FAQ bullets on eligibility: which criteria tend to matter, what documentation patients are usually asked for, and roughly how long the process takes. Please keep it to "may" and "depends on your plan" throughout — see rule 3 in README.md.

A plain-English answer on typical recovery after a reduction — time off work, restrictions, and when patients are usually back to normal. General, with no guaranteed timelines.

This comes up in almost every reduction consult and we have deliberately not attempted it. Please answer in your own words, including how technique affects it and what you tell patients who are still planning a family.
